Ultrasonic Inspection (UT)

Ultrasonic Thickness Testing, Using a Numeric Display

If you need to know the thickness of a material that is fairly flat and uncorroded, ultrasonic thickness using a numeric display may be all you need. Ultrasonic sound beams, in longitudinal mode, reflect off the back of the surface and return to the transducer making a round trip. Take the travel time and divide it by two and multiply by the material velocity and you’ve got a thickness measurement.

ND3 provides high quality training on the use of numeric display thickness units often used for, well, thickness gauging. Call us today to schedule your course.
