Ultrasonic Inspection (UT)

Ultrasonic Phased Array Testing, Level II

If one angle at a time is not your thing, consider leveling up your game to ultrasonic phased array testing and inspect with about 30 at a time. Ultrasonic technology has come a long way in the past few decades but at the end of the day, ultrasonic inspection is just ultrasonics. Phased Array technology allows for the inspection of the component quicker than conventional 3 angle shear wave by modeling multiple angles by firing multiple transducer crystals in various synchronizations and changing the movement of the transducer in relation to the axis of the part being inspected.

Having multiple sound beams applied at different angles means that any reflectors in the part can reflect sound in a more perpendicular manner allowing for higher amplitude signals and better probability of detection. Your Phased Array Ultrasonic course builds upon these angular relationships learned in Shear Wave and shows how to calibrate and use these sophisticated instruments.

Be included in the next generation of ultrasonic technicians and learn phased array ultrasonic inspection from ND3. Who knows where we’re going next, push today’s envelope well into the future.
