Radiographic Inspection

Security of Radioactive Material

In 2005, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission imposed some new rules for industrial radiography which said that all licensees must put into place adequate security protocol to ensure that the people using the sources are vetted and approved or not approved for unescorted access to radioactive material and that the sources themselves must be safeguarded such that theft becomes much more difficult.

It changed radiography. These Orders have evolved into their own regulations and the Agreement States have matching regulations so, security of material is hugely important in today’s landscape. ND3 understands these regulations and how to implement an evergreen program within your organization to keep you compliant and to secure radioactive material. We will show you how a good program is developed, how to institute periodic changes to the program, how to audit the program for effectiveness, and how to deal with an event if one were to happen.

Don’t be caught unprepared, learn about security requirements and implement a sound program today.
